Guidelines for PAMS 18 Oral Presentations
Format and Layout
- Presentations should be saved as Microsoft Office PowerPoint files, at least 2010 version or newer (*.pptx).
- Slides dimensions must be in the standard 4:3 ratio. Wide formats (16:9 ratio) may not convert properly in the projector system that will be used.
- Presentations that require the use of videos and audio must coordinate first with the Secretariat. There is NO GUARANTEE that such media can be played unless properly coordinated prior to the talk. Presentation time will NOT be extended in preparing or playing such media. Video files may not be automatically embedded in the file. To eliminate the problem of PowerPoint losing the link to the video file, video clips must be copied into the same folder as the PowerPoint file.
Venue and Submission
- Session rooms will be equipped with LCD projectors and laptops for the slide presentations.
- Presentation files must be submitted to the Secretariat at least 2 hours before the scheduled presentation session. Presenters should check their PowerPoint files for compatibility and proper operation.
- Presenters will NOT BE ALLOWED TO USE THEIR PERSONAL LAPTOP COMPUTERS.
Presentation Proper
- Each presentation will belong to a specific session in the symposium, which will be moderated by an assigned Session Chair.
- Presenters should be at the session room at least 5-10 minutes before the session starts and introduce themselves to the Session Chairs.
- Oral presentations should not exceed 10 minutes to ensure that there is sufficient time for Q&A. All speakers and Session Chairs are to strictly observe the allotted presentation time in order to keep concurrent sessions synchronized and allow participants to move between sessions.
- In case of a last-minute cancellation of oral presentations, the schedule indicated in the printed program will be followed to prevent a cascade of changes. Changes in the schedule due to unforeseen circumstances will be officially announced by the Secretariat.
