Nemenzo Award for Best Student Presentations
This prestigious award celebrates outstanding student contributions through oral and poster presentations, recognizing excellence in research and communication. Eligible participants include undergraduate and graduate students presenting oraligned with the conference themes. Awards will be given to the top oral and poster presentations based on scientific merit, clarity, creativity, and overall impact.
Award Categories:
- Best Oral Presentation: Recognizes the most compelling student-led research presented in an oral format.
- Best Poster Presentation: Honors exceptional research showcased in a poster format, evaluated on visual impact, data presentation, and clarity.
Guidelines and Judging Criteria:
Full guidelines and judging criteria for the awards will be posted on the PAMS website. Judging will be conducted by a panel of experts from various fields, assessing each presentation based on:
- Scientific Quality - originality, methodology, and relevance to the field.
- Presentation Skills - clarity, engagement, and ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
- Visual and Organizational Quality - use of visuals, organization, and overall presentation layout (for posters).
Submission Details: All students interested in competing for the awards must submit an extended abstract of their research. This abstract should highlight the purpose, methodology, key findings, and significance of the research. Length should be 2-4 pages long, including figures and explanations.
Deadline for Extended Abstract Submission: January 28, 2025

Student Travel Grants
To support the participation of talented student researchers, a limited number of travel grants are available for those presenting at the symposium. These grants aim to help students offset travel expenses, making it easier for them to share their research with peers and experts from around the world.
Eligibility and Application Requirements: Travel grants are open to undergraduate and graduate students who have been accepted to present either an oral or poster presentation at the symposium. To apply, students must submit:
- An Extended Abstract - A concise summary of the research, including the objectives, methodology, key findings, and significance. This abstract will serve as the primary basis for evaluating the research's relevance and quality.
- A Supervisor-Approved Letter - A letter of support from the applicant's academic supervisor, verifying the student's active role in the research and endorsing their participation in the symposium.
Application Process:
- Prepare and submit the required extended abstract along with the supervisor-approved letter.
- Ensure all documents are submitted by January 28, 2025.
The review committee will assess applications based on the research's contribution to the field and the student's engagement in the project.
Notification of Award: Successful applicants will be notified by email no later than March 15, 2025. Recipients will receive specific instructions regarding the disbursement and use of the travel funds.
