3. Conservation & Restoration (CONS): This area of study examines the science of conserving and restoring ecosystems, emphasizing ecological connectivity, and addressing climate change-related vulnerabilities and resilience in damaged habitats.

4. Blue Economy (BLUE): This topic explores the sustainable use of marine resources, analyzing the impacts of marine-based industries, renewable ocean energy, and the valuation of ocean resources.

5. Marine Pollution & Toxicology (POLL): This field studies the effects of human waste and pollutants on ocean health, focusing on the harmful impacts these substances have on marine life and ecosystems.

6. People & Nature (PAN): This topic highlights the relationship between human societies and the marine environment, featuring citizen science initiatives, community-based resource management, indigenous knowledge, and educational advocacy campaigns.

7. Techniques & Innovations (TECH): This area encompasses the various methods, tools, databases, systems, and applications utilized in marine biological research and the management of marine conservation efforts.

8. Special Session: Fish and Fisheries (FISH): This session delves into fish biology and ecology, examining the dynamics of fisheries and aquaculture practices within marine ecosystems.
